Thanks, I'm so happy u got to like them... every picture has within itself an essence which, permits a detached onlooker to connect with the prevailing emotions of the moment when the picture was taken...

*hehe, thanks... i asked him to take me upstream to the Bazzar, he charged me 30 cents!!! It's actually hard work pushing loads upstream and it gets even more difficult during the wet season when the currents are forbidding.

([:-} thanks, the Bawms call this particular basket, "Paiper"... used for hauling medium to small loads via a strap that rests on top the head, the basket is weaved with thin strips of bamboo cut out by the hand... some of the straps here are made of bark strips cut out from selective fauna.

Hmmm, wat do u think? I was thinkin of going for a home grown publisher for this... i'm not sure whether The Straits Times Press and SPH would be willing to publish this genre...time for quick search in the yellow pages...

We propped up this fire with the bamboo we gathered from the nearby forest... later on, we used the same to cook us dinner!!! I placed the body on a tripod for a seven second expsure at mid apperture.
Sumvel Pa in Bawm translates into "Sumvel's Father", in english... the cave is named after the man who discovered it... very much like other SE dialects the Bawms addresses ppl by clarifying their relation to their closest kin... for instance, if you were to address my father the correct way to go by it would be to call him, "Zia's father"... this cave was carved out of a steep sandstone incline by the incessant work of a stream that flows on its floor.

This is definitely one of those chance shots, I was walking along a trail that runs along the stream floor to Elim when I accidentally came up on this... I had to take several exposures before finally getting it right.

Thanks Zoemies, it's great to hear from you, I've merged two seperate albums to one, in that way, I'm able to distinguish between those taken seperately.

Thanks for dropping by, I appreciate your feedback. It's a mixed cotton plantation, about two kms away from the closest village. Villagers or plantation owners construct temporary huts such as these to support their planting and harvesting activities, they are also used as guard houses... although, theft in these parts is unheard of.
